Building Your Dreams

So you have a big dream for yourself, do ya? Often when we get an idea that really excites us, we want to push forward to make it happen as soon as possible. And that’s what society tells us is the right thing to do. If we aren’t pushing forward, then we must not want it enough.

No.

In order for dreams to come into being, the timing has to be right. And right timing doesn’t always mean right now. Right timing can mean the difference between being seen as a genius or as someone with their head in the clouds. That translates to whether your idea will have buy-in or fall flat.

Even though we can’t control right timing, we can influence it, or speed it up. We do this by cultivating inner and outer alignment with our dreams.

What does that mean?

Inner alignment is really about keeping the dream or vision at the front of mind. Think about it, daydream about it, daily if possible. It’s also important to keep an open mind about how everything comes into place and what the end result will look like. Often, what we end up with looks different than what we expected. Letting go of the details can be hard, but it opens up lots of possibilities, maybe even ones you would have never considered.

Outer alignment means doing what you can to make sure your outer environment is supportive of the dream. That certainly includes starting to build the foundation of the idea and putting in the work on it when it feels right to do so. But it also includes having people in your life who support and believe in you.

Building our dreams and bringing our visions to life can take time. It’s not about hustling and pushing forward. Things happen right on time, but we do have to be ready when the moment arrives. Patience can be tough, but if you keep moving forward in small ways, you can build whatever you want for yourself.

The most important thing you can do is listen to yourself about when to work on your vision and when to rest. You can’t build a dream on fumes. Relax into right timing. Trust that you will be ready when the time is right.

Hold the vision.

I believe in you!

Yours in solidarity,

Jill
